Salah satu contohnya adalah present continous tense. Tenses ini merupakan salah satu tenses yang bisa dikatakan mudah dalam membuatnya dan mengidentifikasinya.
Present continous tense adalah bentuk kata kerja yang digunakan untuk menerangkan suatu peristiwa atau kejadian yang sedang terjadi. Tenses ini sering menggunakan kata keterangan (frasa) seperti now (sekarang), still (masih), at present (nanti), dan at this moment (saat ini). Kalimat positive pada present continuous tense menggunakan “be” (am/is/are) sebagai komponen verb phrase-nya dan linking verb (-ing). Sedangkan dalam bentuk yes-no question dapat langsung dibuat dengan menukar posisi subject of verb (S) dan be di depan kalimat.
